DP: contemporary kitchen renovation in durham
Sometimes I have had the opportunity to renovate a space I originally designed. Formerly the McCollough residence, the new owners loved the layout of the kitchen, laundry and mudroom but needed to update appliances, shorten countertops, change storage and utility needs and open up the mudroom space.
The finish is a delightfully refreshing and fun kitchen, beautifully finished and detailed, especially the custom designed backsplash and water droplet shaped pendant lights that help with a subtle contemporary water/beach theme through the kitchen/living area. It was rewarding to reuse the original island top and to find a new home to reuse all the original cabinets and appliances.
